It is very important for manufacturing companies to have up and running equipment in the production of their goods. A fixed lane is a basic method where a PLC reads the lane number barcode which was applied earlier at the pickup area. A horizontal belt sortation is one system that is cost efficient. It does not require high throughput which means that the company does not have to buy additional equipment which they will not be able to use anyway. These belters can handle sortation at a medium rate – that is 60 cartons per minute. Corrugated boxes, trays and totes are ideal for this type of sortation.

A parcel sortation is fit for small orders of few pieces only. They are sorted with the help of a carrier and put together in the dock door. These are only a few of the sortation systems that can greatly benefit manufacturing companies.
